For action and adventure, fun and friendship, the Army Cadet Force is hard to beat. With 41,000 cadets (aged 12-18) and 9,500 adults in over 1,600 locations in every corner of the United Kingdom, the ACF is one of the country’s largest voluntary youth organisations. It is also one of the oldest tracing its history back to 1859.
The Royal County of Berkshire Army Cadet Force (ACF) is part of a national youth organisation aimed at inspiring young people to achieve both physically and mentally whilst developing self-confidence, teamwork and leadership. Cadets have the opportunity to take part is numerous activities, including First Aid training (which leads to a nationally recognised award), The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), BTEC Certificate in Public Services as well as military skills and adventurous training.
There are 18 Detachments across the County organised into three Companies.
