Southend Clinical Commissioning Group

NHS Southend CCG is a Clinical Commissioning Group in south Essex. A CCG is a group of GPs and clinicians which commissions (buys) health services for their local communities.

NHS Southend CCG covers a population of approximately 185,000 in Southend, Leigh, Westcliff and Thorpe Bay, with 35 member practices.

NHS Southend CCG is committed to ensuring the delivery of local, high quality services that meet the specific needs of our population.

With more than 18,000 patients over the age of 75, one of NHS Southend CCG’s priorities will be to help improve care for those with long term conditions who often make unplanned visits to hospital.

We will build on our relationship with Southend Borough Council to ensure a joint approach to health and social care for the residents of Southend. The ultimate aim is to improve the care received and the patient experience while reducing inefficiencies.

Our key objectives are personalisation, integration, and ‘right care first time’.
